Just tested with Gutsy rhythmbox and it seems to be resolved. 1. open rhythmbox and select a folder containing mp3's and also ticked watch folder for changes. 2. closed rhythmbox and verified that it was not running in the background with ps. 3. added a new mp3 to mp3 folder. 4. restarted rhythmbox and it immediately updated the list of files with the new mp3.
