Hi, I'm seeing the same problem here (I think). I'm using Xgl with Gnome without desktop effects. I have the problem that the url bar in firefox is responding very slowly sometimes (typing in a character in the url bar takes a noticeable delay until it's displayed). The only "fix" for me is to reboot.
After a reboot the problem is gone.
