Totally agree, but the installation dialogue should reflect the reality we
have been discussing. As it stands, I believe it states the *previous* OS
will be unreachable.

Also, it is an error to proceed with a lengthy installation if the end
result is unbootable. I take your point that, given what we have discussed
(and not what is in the installation dialogue), it is an error on the part
of the user. But it is a nonsensical option and thus an error in the
installer as well.
