@hws This is not a bug per-se, as LVM itself uses kernel drive names in the metadata, and the output shown in the LVM partitioner menu is the same as shown by LVM2 utils, $ sudo pvs
Please remove any target for this issue (e.g. targetmilestone-inin--), because there is no immediate way to resolve this. If you wish to improve LVM2 tooling, please contact LVM2 upstream to make all utilities (vgs, pvs, vgchange, etc.) to use alternative symlink names, instead of real kernel device names. I do not believe it makes any sense for installer code to post-process output of $ sudo pvs, trying to mangle it and reconcile it with ids. Especially since installed systems will not have any tooling (e.g. pvs) that will also show output with ids. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1558264 Title: Usability Partitioner menu does not display the real 4 digit device number To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/1558264/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
