Why does the charm command take *seconds* for *any* command, even
invalid ones? Here are some amazing examples:

andreas@nsn7:~$ time charm --help > /dev/null

real    0m2.879s
user    0m9.252s
sys     0m1.068s


andreas@nsn7:~$ time charm andreas was here
ERROR unrecognized command: charm andreas

real    0m2.718s
user    0m9.408s
sys     0m1.008s
