i got X to come back up, but for some reason it can't detect my monitor
anymore, and even though i tell it to use the nvidia prop driver, it
does not, it tries, and just failed, so i pick the nv driver and go from
there. I manually removed nvidia-glx and added it back in with
synaptic, this re-installed the restricted drivers and all that...

my issue is, my upgrade to gibbon failed... and i can't get it to
continue where it left off, OR to do the whole thing all over again...
can i trick ubuntu into thinking i am a feisty system again and do the
upgrade?
