Public bug reported:

Hi,

I just tried to get rid of that fonts-noto-hinted font package (and
others), since it completely jams the font selection of common programs
with enormous heaps of fonts useless for most parts of the world. I have
dozens of Begali, Ethiopic, Tamil and other fonts, that are completely
useless for me, but make it extremely difficult to survey the fonts I
need.

Unfortunately I could not remove that package, since xubuntu-core
depends on it.

Please stop littering the machines with packages completely useless for
>99% of users.

Such things like font packages with exotic fonts belong into locale
packages installed depending on the choice at installation time, but not
in a core package.

I cannot understand how someone could even consider to pack tons of
exotic special fonts into a core package.
