This soundcard works, the problem is getting there. The sound isn't always perfect, but still..
What you need to do is: 1. Toggle the IEC958 switch in alsamixer or gnome volume control (I believe it should be set to OFF, as this disables digital output). In alsamixer this switch is the first one, for me anyway. 2. Select "Analog Front" in the gnome sound preferences under Default Mixer Tracks (and possibly in the Volume Control preferences, although the gnome setting might be automatically used by volume control). 3. Make sure your speaker cable is plugged into the correct output (L/R or Headphones), as there are a few of them! hehe 4. Make sure to unmute Analog Front and set it to a reasonable level. It took me a long time to get this information by testing here and there. Now it works perfectly (aside from occasional sound imperfections). -- Ca0106 sound card no sound ubuntu 7.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
