Unfortunately without a core file, there is no way to follow this bug up
since we need the memory state of the crashing process.

Does this still occur?  if so, try "ulimit -c unlimited" and then run
"telinit 2" -- if that crashes, you should get a core dump in the
current directory.  No coredump still?  /etc/init.d/apport stop and try
again.  If you manage to get one, please mark this bug as New again.
