I've installed yakkety on a cherryview/cherrytrail Atom today (x5-Z8300)
and Unity8 works fine.
Your attached logs however just show you've hit an existing Mir crash;
duplicate of bug 1506358. You're only the second person though to have
reported it crashing the unity8 process :(

libmirclient gives up and terminates prematurely with "std::exception::what:
disconnected: no new buffers" via ExchangeSemantics::submit()
