Dear Christopher, I have searched now through all files in /var/log, including apport.*. However, there is no information about the previous kernel/hardware enablement stack.
Sorry, that I am no help here. A problem possible related to this bug is that when the laptop is awaking from suspend mode, X is always extremely slow, sometimes not responding at all.
