May I ask why you request me to test that version? Is there any changes
in the code or you would just suggest a luck of testing and see if it
fixed? Did you report it to the upstream (the sane project) after three
months of waiting?
I am saying this because I can not believe that the simple action takes
almost 3 months to get back to me and not reporting to upstream vendor
and the report is still marked: 'incomplete'. Did all ubuntu staff
thinking it is 'always user's error' rather than real bug?
The bug s reported on 06 and three months later you suggest to test on a
alpha version of ubuntu without even noticing that the version and code
of xsane did not change.
Nevertheless I managed to download the alpha version (dated 10/09/2016)
and after long time of burning into CD and adjust X settings (as this
alpha version does not work with multiple screen yet). The problem is
exactly the same. Below is output of the package. Both xsane has error
with same message like before. More than that as xsane is not come by
default ubuntu I tried the simple scan program and got error as well, it
detect the scanner but saying can not connect to the scanner. This is no
surprises to me as they use the same sane backend.

If you treat user's report like it is their fault please let us know so
we better compile it form upstream source code, test it and if error
report directly to the sane project. Probably it is faster to get it
fixed rather than staying in here for nothing. And then I would get an
official complain about Ubuntu user's support.
