In order to check this I grabbed the iso file ubuntu-16.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso
and installed a system with 'encrypted disk with LVM' according to the choice in the partitioning window of the installer. It had a working plymouth screen when I booted in the installed system. I updated & upgraded the system to be up to date with the kernel 4.4.0-43-generic. After reboot there is still a working plymouth screen. See the attached photo (sorry for the low quality ). I tested this in a Toshiba laptop bought 2013, http://www.toshiba.se/laptops/satellite-pro/c850/satellite-pro-c850-19w/ Is this what you are missing? Please try to install from the first point release (16.04.1 LTS). ** Attachment added: "plymouth-screen_with_cryptsetup-passphrase.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-debug-installer/+bug/1359689/+attachment/4760503/+files/plymouth-screen_with_cryptsetup-passphrase.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359689 Title: cryptsetup password prompt not shown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-debug-installer/+bug/1359689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
