This doesn't look buggy at all to me. Do you mean update or Upgrade
(like from 14.04 -> 16.04) ?
If you wish to have an application appear on the 'Favorites' menu tab, follow
that.
Scrawl through the menu, then "right-click" -> add to Favorites
e.g. for Firefox: Move cursor on 2nd Menu-Tab "Applications" ->
"Internet" -> Firefox – rightclick -> select "Add to Favorites"
