Public bug reported:
Trusty whois does not know about .xyz TLD. I tested on a jessie
computer and the resolution succeeded. I am not sure if going with my
suggestion in bug 1653341 would solve this issue (nothing in that file
about xyz, in particular).
$ whois asldkfjas.xyz
No whois server is known for this kind of object.
