Public bug reported:

vim-autopep8 package installs its vimL script in

    /usr/share/vim/addons/ftplugin/

but this path is not in Ubuntu's default runtimepath, excluding items
belonging to the user's home the runtimepath is:

    /usr/share/vim/vim74
    /usr/share/vim/vimfiles
    /usr/share/vim/vimfiles/after
    /var/lib/vim/addons
    /var/lib/vim/addons/after

So either the script path should be changed to something that's already
there like ''/var/lib/vim/addons'' or
''/usr/share/vim/addons/ftplugin/'' should be added to vim's rtp.

In my case vim's provided by vim-gnome 2:7.4.1689-3ubuntu1.2 .
