Public bug reported:

After running ppa-purge it outputs Warning:  apt-get update failed for
some reason - apt update has to be run manually to complete the purge.

chris@localhost:~$ lsb_release -rd

chris@localhost:~$ apt-cache policy ppa-purge
ppa-purge:
