After discussion with the rest of the server team, this would not satisfy the "Stable Release Update" requirements, which dictate when an update can and cannot be accepted as an update in a stable Ubuntu release.
Implementing this in a PPA would be trivial, however we are not going to be implementing this in Ubuntu at this time. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#When for details on when a stable release update is appropriate. This is not one of those times, currently. ** Also affects: nginx (Ubuntu Trusty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: nginx (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Invalid ** Changed in: nginx (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: nginx (Ubuntu Trusty) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1683830 Title: Missing geoip module in nginx-naxsi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1683830/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
