Thanks -- regardless of the usefulness of the setting, the bigger issue is that if you go to Preferences -> Openbox Configuration Manager -> Windows and uncheck "Focus new windows when they appear" it has no effect, because of this <application> section.
I just tested the behavior when that section is removed, and as the ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml file implies, hitting F4 in pcmanfm will open a terminal without changing focus to it, despite focusNew being set to "Yes", so I understand the motivation there. But maybe this is a bug in openbox or pcmanfm that could be addressed? Or, if that is the only known reason for using the <application> section, perhaps it could be narrowed to lxterminal. It just feels a little unfinished, and confuses users like myself. :-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1682927 Title: lubuntu-rc.xml config breaks focusNew config To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1682927/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
