Public bug reported:

I wiped out my old Linux ext4 partition and created a new partition
(alongside Windows).

The installer seems to be fine -- copying files, OK -- and then it tries
to read package indexes from the USB stick that I'm installing from.
Here, this step fails and it causes the installer process to crash.

I am going to try again from a DVD, but if that fails again, I will have
no choice but to go back to Ubuntu (vanilla). I really want the audio
configuration from Ubuntu Studio but if the installer is broken... don't
have time for that.
