Somewhat sheepishly, I have to admit that I didn't read the error
message carefully at first. I think I see the issue now.

The flash disk was not clean when I started. I assumed unetbootin would
wipe the disk or ignore other files. One of the other directories is
named Sources. The Ubuntu Studio installer assumes this includes package
repository info, but it doesn't. So it fails to parse.

It is my error (I think, will try shortly), but the behavior is not
exactly graceful.

- unetbootin could warn that extraneous files could break the installer.

- or the installer could be more rigorous about ignoring directories
that didn't come from the installation package.
