sorry - the auto attached logs were not pointing me to a clear case.
All I see is that after the upgrade the re-start of the smbd/nmbd servers fails.
Those restarts on upgrade are done so that services pick up security fixes and 
such.

You might take a look at the full service status to get an idea what is going 
on.
Mostly that is misconfiguration, a service that never worked and then somewhen 
later on an upgrade it fails to restart.

To check what might be going on issue:
$ systemctl status smbd
$ systemctl status nmbd

That output would usually be atatched, but since the error was 4 days
ago it isn't in the journal log anymore.
