With xenial, the previous version is still available, so you can easily
downgrade it.
Or if you prefer a more recent version:
- from ubuntu archive: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rustc
- from debian: https://packages.debian.org/experimental/rustc
As you might know, xenial is upgraded with security version by default.
So your request will not end with an upgrade.
