Could you test the latest upstream kernel so we'll know whether or not the problem has already been fixed? Currently this is 4.14-rc5, which can be downloaded here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.14-rc5/ You'll need the linux-image-*-generic package for amd64, and if you're using any dkms packages you may also want to install the headers packages (the one with generic in the name and the one that ends in _all.deb).
