Ok, sorry for the delay - now I'm back on this.
I want to at least understand whats going on soon.

BTW - Until solved or otherwise delayed (there always is a chance that
this isn't backportable/fixable and since it is working in general no
breaking changes will get back in an SRU) there is always the chance to
use the Ubuntu Cloud Archive [1] to get onto a newer supported
virtualization stack while staying at the LTS in general.

But back on the case - I said I wanted to debug what the server is doing
at that time and I found it really consumes that time on the server side
(why I don't know yet, but better log to follow).
