This can be reproduced by stopping the samba services and calling
logrotate:
# systemctl stop smbd nmbd
# logrotate -f /etc/logrotate.d/samba
Can't find pid for destination 'nmbd'
error: error running non-shared postrotate script for /var/log/samba/log.nmbd
of '/var/log/samba/log.nmbd '
# echo $?
1
