** Description changed: - This sort of thing happens fairlz often, but this time I was able to + This sort of thing happens fairly often, but this time I was able to reproduce it (although since I was actually trying to get some work done, I would perhaps have preferred not to have done so...) I had two Nemo windows open on different desktops, to transfer quite a few photos from a series of directories to another series of directories, based on date and place taken. This went well briefly, but then Nemo disappeared. I restarted both windows, but from terminal. I did the exact last thing I had been doing, which was to open up the exact directories in each window between which I wished to transfer photos. When I tried to open the "from" directory, Nemo disappeared again. (although when I just again tried to do so, so far it seems to be working...) Anyway, I found that the terminal output ended with "Segmentation fault (core dumped)", and as is usual with these crashes, I got the "No such file or directory" window a couple of minutes later. I will attach a text file of the terminal output, and a screenshot of the error window below. --------------------------------------------------------------- scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AMPLUS:~$ uname -a Linux scott-ASUS-M2N68-AMPLUS 4.10.0-37-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 6 20:20:37 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AMPLUS:~$ lsb_release -dsc Ubuntu 17.04 zesty scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AMPLUS:~$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION Lubuntu scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AMPLUS:~$ nemo --version nemo 3.2.2 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.04 Package: nemo 3.2.2-3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.10.0-37.41-generic 4.10.17 Uname: Linux 4.10.0-37-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.4-0ubuntu4.5 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: LXDE Date: Mon Oct 30 15:32:19 2017 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-04-22 (191 days ago) InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 17.04 "Zesty Zapus" - Release amd64 (20170412) SourcePackage: nemo UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1728699 Title: Nemo crashes with SegFault To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nemo/+bug/1728699/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
