Public bug reported: python-pyperclip is one of three packages keeping pygtk2 in Ubuntu main. (The other two are ibus-sunpinyin and system-config-kickstart)
pygtk has been unmaintained upstream since around 2011. The way forward is to port python-pyperclip to use GObject Introspection bindings. This also requires porting to GTK3. For more information on GObject Introspection see: https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GObjectIntrospection https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/PyGObject ** Affects: python-pyperclip (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bionic gtk2-demotion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1736324 Title: python-pyperclip depends on pygtk2 which is deprecated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-pyperclip/+bug/1736324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
