Public bug reported:
Installed 17.10 on /dev/sda6, internal SSD, with /home on /dev/sdb1,
first partition on external HDD. ubiquity could not install bootloader
on either device. This install is an upgrade of 17.04 (i386) to 17.10
(amd64). I saw many errors in process of saving installed packages,
(possibly due to change from 32 to 64-bit O/S?)
