The freeze event occurs again. I pressed [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[left mouse
button]. Programs are callable from an icon of the desktop or panel but
not from the menu. I can switch to the text terminal with
[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F1] and switch back again to the desktop but other typed
characters in a text line are ignored. The /var/log/syslog messages at
this time shows:

But I think that's not really helpful.
