Public bug reported:

We understand that the z patches for spectre mitigation in the kernel
include introduction of an interface to enable or disable branch
prediction on a per-process basis.

I don't know what that interface looks like and what the usability is
for production systems.  It would be helpful to have some analysis here.
Is it done in a way that can be set before the process starts executing?
Is it inherited?  Is it bound to the filesystem in some way?  cgroups?
