For the time being I'm retargeting your request for RAM size checking in the boot cd towards the upcoming Hardy kernel. The 'hardy-kernel-candidate' tag I've added will allow us to locate reports which need to be updated and retargeted towards the Hardy kernel once it is released. However, against linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22 I'm marking this as 'Won't Fix' as it does not meet the criteria for a stable release update.
