Would you expect end users to need the files from that nvml_dbg directory? In the current packaging, these go into the corresponding libfoo-dev packaages, but that's not really correct from a packaging perspective. At most they should be in some new package, something like libfoo-extra- debugging-dev perhaps, but I found no precedence for such a thing.
Ubuntu already produces packages with debugging symbols for all builds, so that aspect is covered and wouldn't be lost. What these won't have is the extra logging, asserts and expensive checks that you mentioned, which I assume cannot be enabled at runtime with an environment variable for example. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1752378 Title: Please add Userspace Packages for NVDIMM support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1752378/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
