> if someone affected wanted to boot with the apparmor=0 kernel command line option (with the latest artful kernel, without the noibpb kernel command line option, and with the latest intel-microcode package), I'd really appreciate it.
Just done this: Downloaded latest microcode (3.20180312). Replaced /lib/firmware/intel-ucode with one from the download. Ran update-initramfs -u -k 4.13.0-38-generic Rebooted - specifically selected 4.13.0-38-generic to reboot. Added apparmor=0 as a boot option. Booted. => All looks OK. System still up and running after 5 mins. Rebooted to 4.13.0-38-generic without specifying apparmor=0. => System locks up at the "pulsing" kubuntu logo. Rebooted back to 4.13.0-38-generic with apparmor=0 (and fsck.mode=force) to switch back to the previous microcode on 4.13.0-38-generic. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1759920 Title: intel-microcode 3.20180312.0 causes lockup at login screen(w/ linux- image-4.13.0-37-generic) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-microcode/+bug/1759920/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
