This bug was fixed in the package avahi for trusty, xenial and artful.
bionic is not affected by this issue.
xenial: 0.6.32~rc+dfsg-1ubuntu2.1
trusty: 0.6.31-4ubuntu1.2
Would be great if the various people affected by this could confirm they
no longer hit the issue.
