The "kerberos method" options that were tried are in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1761737/comments/16. There is no crash when it's set to "system keytab" or "dedicated keytab" plus pointing the keytab at /etc/krb5.keytab
