Public bug reported:

This is new at 18.04 (I've just upgraded from 17.10, which was fine).

I open up dolphin and click on an entry under Devices (a mixture of non-auto
mounted local devices and external USB ones).
What I now see happening most times is that the device mounts but I also get an
error message posted (top of the listing display) saying that the device is
already mounted.

I'm also seeing occasions where I click on a device name and nothing
appears to happen. It is left marked as unmounted and nothing shows in
the listing display. But the device is actually mounted and indeed, a
right-click on it gives me the option to Unmount it. But it is unusable
as dolphin won;t show me anything there. Once a device gets into this
state it seems to stay there - I have to start another dolphin session
to do anything with it (assuming that one doesn't get the same issue).

The net result is that trying to use non auto mounting devices has
become extremely difficult.

I'm seeing this on two separate systems - both just updated.
