Danke Schon, I will try that and let you know. I got a message about line 893 of the /var/lib/exim4/config.autogenerated file but it looked right to me. It was gmail_smtp: driver=smtp port=587 hosts_require_auth = $host_address hosts_require_tls = $host_address
