I have the same situation as alyssonbrito wrote on 2007-10-20:

I installed Kubuntu 7.10 when it was ofically released. Now Kubuntu is trying
to install the new version though. It has done this twice so far always ending
up on a error screen after some of the step are done. It finishes with the
Error message telling
"Your system is up to date"
And a button to report a bug or close.
