Discovery of an unwanted ~/snap/ directory and a bit of googling brought me here. I am firmly aligned with most of the arguments in this thread against a mandatory non-hidden ~/snap/ directory. The treatment of 'wishlist' here is inappropriate. For every person on thread saying they won't use snaps until this directory path is configurable or .snap by default, i'd guess there are a significant number (100? 1000?) more who won't bother to say anything at all. Many linux users are quite particular about their environments, especially the state of their desktops and $home, myself included. Refusing to honor a long-standing convention here is probably irritating and alienating a whole bunch of users. /signed
