@qwertzy - Hi Matalak! Glad to see you found my many messages :) I'd tried a few suggestions from AskUbuntu, but it didn't seem like many people were experiencing the same problem and was just going to go back to 17.10 and hope an update fixed it. Fortunately I found your UKUU solution, so thanks for taking the time to write it up in the forums and adding to the bug report too!
I'm still finding it a puzzle why it affects some machines and not others. Recently tested a machine with a Live USB of 18.04 that has an N2830 (and no SSD) and it has definitely got the same suspend problem, but experienced no issues with a machine using an N2840 (?). So my 'Bay Trail Atom with an SSD' adhoc theory is unravelling somewhat :) Just in case you see anyone else on the forums with suspend issues, could you point them towards my '6 Steps To Less Sleepnessness' answer: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1029474/ubuntu-18-04-dell-xps13-9370-no- longer-suspends-on-lid-close/1044270#1044270 if you don't mind. (it might have a little bit too much detail, but it's basically - Is there an nVidia graphics issue? Does 'suspend' work at all? What happens with a Live USB? Is it an s2idle problem? Does the 4.14 kernel fix it? Can you add to the bug report? ) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774950 Title: Suspend fails in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 17.10 (and on Kubuntu 18.04 using kernel 4.14.47) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1774950/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
