What I have described above has always happened, at least as far as I can remember.
However, right now I am observing something worse and new: I'm double-clicking on a text file icon in Nautilus to open it in gedit. Normally this would highlight the existing launcher icon for gedit as expected and as shown in my first screenshot. However, now, the expected icon flashes for a fraction of a second, but then the new one is created as shown in my second screenshot. I don't know if this has to do with the fact that the first time I launched gedit since I booted this time was from a terminal. The whole thing is pathetic. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1778235 Title: Gedits create an additional Launcher icon when launched from command line To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1778235/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
