The logs just have: systemd[1]: tomcat8.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
But since a newly installed tomcat8 works there must be some setup/config change that triggers that. Without finding this - and at least to me I can't find it in the logs attache so far - this bug can not really be actioned on. Essentially you can iterate on $ systemctl restart tomcat8.service $ systemctl status tomcat8.service Until you have found the piece that breaks it. If you have no custom tomcat8 conf consider purging it (apt remove --purge) and reinstalling it afterwards with a clean config. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1744955 Title: package tomcat8 8.0.32-1ubuntu1.5 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomcat8/+bug/1744955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
