I applied the tweak of Tim (#46) on my Medion P6812 with a NVIDIA
Corporation GF116M [GeForce GT 555M/635M].

After a clean install of Ubuntu 18.04.1 with the application of the
Nvidia driver (switching to Intel) the power (by powertop) went from
approx. 18 W to 9 W (tlp also installed and running).

Thanks to Tim for his tweak!!!!

I hope the Ubuntu guys can use this to apply a permanent solution for
the next release.
