Public bug reported:
I would like to draw the attention to #360478 and #397655, to which I
refer in this report.
When I start my machine, it boots up on an initial screen of small resolution.
Later on, after I logon to KDE, the screen is switched to an external screen of
considerably higher resolution. Along with the effects stemming from #360478,
the icons have been repositioned by then to the left upper part of the screen.
However, contrary to earlier versions of Plasma 5, with the newer version, the
items are additionally rescaled, in an arbitrary manner (see attachment).
I also refer to #397655, a report of my own, about a continuous rescaling of
the fuzzy clock applet with each change of time display.
I surmise that both are related, since both show a behaviour not observed in
earlier Plasma versions. While the repositioning of the items had always
occurred with Plasma 5 according to #360478, the repositioned items had not
been rescaled like seen on the attachment. Rather, they were of the original,
earlier, size.
It looks like Plasma 5 in the inception used by myself loses control of item
size, not only of the fuzzy clock as described in #397655, but on any item that
changes.
