I am communicating from my W10 HP i7 laptop which is my main laptop because we have one software program that must and only runs on Windows. It is critical to our licensing/business. The HP g7 laptop is a backup running Ubuntu. I would prefer to have all my office computer systems on Ubuntu but I have one program that will only run on Windows. I have not tried it in a virtual machine yet. That is next step for trying to transition to Ubuntu completely. I have 3 desktops and 1 laptop running W10 and this laptop on W10 because of the one software program that I need for business production. I can't run it on the Ubuntu laptop. There are major suppliers who run the specific software on virtual machines but you must be a high volume user of the software to afford their virtual systems running this sofware... so I am stuck with Windows.
