right now, 4.17 is not a thing In ubuntu, and neither 4.19 is even stable, we
still have a lot of work to do to make the modules compatible with them.
As said, if you want to play with kernels, you are free to use
virtualbox-source and module-assistant to experience your fixes, and even post
patches upstream (like I do).
Otherwise, the risk of breaking existing vbox installation, to fix
unexisting bugs, doesn't make any sense (yet).
