> having a directory not hidden with a fixed name in the home directory
is not a common practice.

The vast majority of Ubuntu users in the desktop have directories named
similar to "Video", "Pictures", "Documents", "Downloads", "Music", etc
there, which means that in fact this is a common practice, and a very
well established one at that. Claiming otherwise, and repeatedly so,
washes out the better arguments.

The better argument is that yes, the snap directory is a bit different,
because it deals with confinement of applications that cannot write
elsewhere, and yes it currently uses a technical organization that is
unlike other cases for that same reason, and yes, this organization is
not optimal for users which is why this issue is still open and not
closed, and yes, we also want to improve it, and yes we have been
working in other priorities non-stop for years now because we felt these
were more important for the survival of the project.

> Also, I would appreciate it if we could keep this focused on the
discussion, and not the person.

I would actually appreciate if sometimes there was some consideration of
the fact there are reasonable people on the other side.

Have a great day everyone, and sorry for the noise in your inboxes.
