Public bug reported:
ubuntu 18.04 - Intel Xeon 8 core workstation
The printer is an old Samsung ML-4600 USB, but it does its job. On a
8core workstation, printing starts immediately if it's text only.
A 26kB LibO doc, containing a tiny 8k image only, needs 2'6" till the
printer starts printing. With a 900kB image in the doc, the time is the
same.
With scribus and the tiny 8K image, it takes 45s till the printer starts
action.
Odd - with top I cannot see any printing activity causing relevant cpu
load, but I think at least one core should do heavy rasterizing work.
I love linux to support old hardware - but this is not state-of-the-art,
hope improvements are possible.
Cheers,
Wolf
