On a 8core workstation, printing starts immediately if it's text + only. The print itself is always done in 10" or so. A 26kB LibO doc, containing a tiny 8k image only, needs 2'6" till the printer starts printing. With a 900kB image in the doc, the time is the same. With scribus and the tiny 8K image, it takes 45s till the printer starts action. + + When trying to print a heavy 2MB per page doc, it takes more than 10' + till the printer starts to act. Odd - with top I cannot see any printing activity causing relevant cpu load, but I think at least one core should do heavy rasterizing work. I love linux to support old hardware - but this is not state-of-the-art, hope improvements are possible. Cheers, Wolf
